Here's an interesting piece on directions the comics industry could and should take in its long, slow climb towards mainstream respectability and, of course, increased attention and profits. It's from the latest blog I've linked to, All Too Flat, which is not exclusively a comics blog, but apparently writes about the topic from time to time.
The more I read things like this, the more I appreciate my comics shop, which is clean, well laid-out, and has a definite minimum of Comic Book Guys and "teenage Slipknot fans with Vampirella on their pull list". Now if they'd just bring back the holds customer discount and bag 'n' board our books, I'd be a happy boy...or at least a happier paying customer of the Great Escape store in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
