I was almost late for work this morning because I sat down and got interested in a screening of the 1932 Jean Harlow film Red-Headed Woman, a pre-Hays Code drama with comedic touches, or perhaps vice versa. Either way, it was a hoot and a half and I wish I could have seen the whole thing. Maybe someday I will, by golly.

Just found out that today would have been Miz Harlow's 93 birthday if she hadn't died in 1937. Here's her official website, with lots of kewl stuff.

Happy B-day as well to Robyn Hitchcock, writer of wonderful and weird songs including one of the most beautiful I've heard lately, "I Saw Nick Drake".
