Just read that Dave Allen, of Dave Allen At Large fame, has died. For a while there in the mid-to-late 70s, in the wake of Monty Python, it seemed like a lot of TV stations around me would show a lot of British comedies, like Benny Hill and The Goodies, and I would always be right there watching. I think I liked Allen the best- he had a really dry wit, sitting there smoking like a chimney and knocking back whiskey in that tall chair. Anyway, RIP, Dave, and may your God be with you.
