NRBQ AT YANKEE STADIUM (1978)
The Best Little Band with the Worst Damn Luck in the World released this typically excellent LP to sadly typical indifference from the record buying public in the late '70s...even though it's full of gems such as "Green Lights", "I Love Her, She Loves Me", "I Want You Bad", and the best version evah of "Shake, Rattle and Roll", complete with ass-kicking trombone solo courtesy the Whole Wheat Horns. The cover suggests the Q played a show at the House That Ruth Built, and this is a document of it, but look on the back cover and...
The punch line! There they are, AT Yankee Stadium! In fact, if you look real close on the front cover you can see them sitting on the left hand side of the dugout, very tiny. The goofy humor of the New Rhythm and Blues Quartet, right there on display for all to see.
